Great little RV park, the sites are tight. Not great for hanging in your site though there are picnic tables. Restrooms very clean, showers nice, good size dog park, kids loved the playground, rec room was fun and covered pool was great. It is next to the freeway so a bit noisy. The 24K food truck was tasty, reasonably priced and they deliver to your site. Staff was friendly. Overall great place to park your RV and explore Sacramento.
Came through Donner Pass and stayed here for one night. The spaces are tight, gravel pads. We needed 50 amp service but was told that they only have 7 spaces with 50 amp and those are taken by all the long term people, even if though the map shows more spaces with 50. They have not fixed the problem on these spaces. Bathrooms are nice and clean. Alot of long term residents. Will not be back or recommend for this price.
We have stayed in over 450 RV Parks while traveling full-time in a 42-foot coach. This was our first visit here staying one night. (1) Dust, some parks are so dusty that even after just a couple nights your unit needs a bath, the dust on our coach was very minimal compared to many other parks. The roads are paved. (2) Level pads, big coaches need paved or thick gravel pads that are level. We give this park a 5-star rating for the level pad, but only a 3-star rating because the pad was gravel. This... Read More

(3) We live in the age of WIFI technology and there is nothing to stop any RV Park across this country from investing in doing WIFI properly. For some users such as ourselves, WIFI is an important feature. This park receives 4-stars for their WIFI.
(4) Maneuverability, some parks have very narrow roads which make backing up and turning difficult, we found this park to have plenty of room to maneuver.
(5) Satellite, as you know satellite reception is impossible to receive when there are large trees present. If you stay away from the sites with the tall trees to the south, you should receive reception here.
(6) Phone Service, we have AT&T which worked great here.
(7) This park has a huge off-leash dog park located towards the front of the park on the other side of the play area.

Of the many KOA's we have stayed in over the years, this one was the 2nd worst. It's only 2nd because we could at least level our coach. On 2nd thought, maybe it's the worst because we had to share a power post with our neighbor. The post has a 30 amp and a 50 amp outlet so they put our 30 amp rig next to a 50 amp RV. At least the post was on the correct side for us so we didn't have to pull the wiring under our RV and drag it across our campsite to plug into the post. Oh, it gets better, when I... Read More

At least the post was on the correct side for us so we didn't have to pull the wiring under our RV and drag it across our campsite to plug into the post. Oh, it gets better, when I went to shut off the breaker so I could plug in our voltage monitoring device I noticed that the breaker for our 30 amp and the 50 amp breaker as well were taped over in the on position with a message written on the tape to leave them alone. Wow!
We lost power on an average of 6 times per day for the 3 days we were there. When we asked the management about it we were informed that it was our gear that was causing the problem. He also mentioned that they sold a device that would bring the voltage back up to where it belonged so that this wouldn't happen. We own a Camco 55301 30 Amp RV Power Defender Voltage Protector/Monitor with Integrated Surge Protection. He runs $450. I don't want to get too technical about this for the benefit of those of you reading my comments but, if they know that the power they are supplying is insufficient and that's the reason our device was cut off, then they need to get that fixed. Not sell something that "raises the power up".
Reliable, safe and private power is important to us so I know that when I revisit the area, I will be staying somewhere else.

This place is not bad for an overnight, if you need to stop. The sites are REALLY narrow. You could mange the length. There was virtually no room on either side to fully open the bin doors, let alone enjoy an evening outside. Could hear the kids inside the coach next door... running and having fun! Did not attempt to leave our site with the Toad hooked up.
Sac West is perfectly located for us to visit our daughter. We like to stay in the 50 amp row right up front. All workers are very pleasant. If you desire there is the 24 Karat Grill that cooks up great breakfast or brunch up to 1PM - And they deliver to your site! The POOL IS FANTASTIC! This time of year they place an air inflated dome over the top and it is 80 degrees! Just wish they would add a skinny dip hour say about 9:00 PM to 10. Only reason I gave an 8 is because of Highway 80 freeway noise.... Read More

We have stayed here several times in the past and it was ok. This time it was run down and not well cared for. Our site was deep rutted dry mud with very little gravel seen in site. Space narrow and barely able to accommodate travel trailer with slides on one size only. Had to disconnect truck due to having to move trailer far enough forward to accommodate slides. Paid too much for this site! This will be the last time we will ever camp here again! Will stay at a nice rv park near Roseville that... Read More

Not the worst, but FAR from the best. The good sam rating is REALLY off... in my opinion anyway. This park is extremely run down and beat up. The "premium" sites are dirt sites. At one time these sites had gravel in them... but that was probably 5 or more years ago! The sites are full of potholes, very uneven, and mostly dirt mixed with gravel. Also do not be fooled by the photos which imply there is water/river nearby. There is a trash filled, green slim, smelly, stagnant water near the... Read More

This feels like an inner-city park. Many of the RVs present are old and have not moved in many, many years.
The freeway is directly next to it and VERY, VERY loud!! You have to shout to be heard when talking with people. So loud it is difficult to sleep at night. It also is extremely overpriced for what it is. I am shocked at how full it is given the quality and price. I hated staying at this park!
However, there are some redeeming features which should be mentioned...
First, the staff was very friendly every time I spoke with them. They were polite, helpful, and seemed happy to work there.
Secondly, there is a play area for children and perhaps families would find the park better than I as a business person.
Third, there is an on-site food cart which will deliever. (I did not use so unable to rate quality.)
Lastly, it is located near a large shopping area. So just about anything you would need was within a few miles. (Again this was also a downside due to all the noise and traffic congestion.)
I would suggest you look at the google sat image of this park so you know what you are getting into. If noise, crowded spaces, rundown appearance, and heavy traffic does not bother you, then you will probably be okay.

Spaces too tight. Wifi not good. Bathrooms old and didn't feel clean. Chickens run lose to annoy dogs, I guess. Had to pay extra to park my tow vehicle four rows back from my rig (that is the small space size). Couldn't use picnic table due to full-time family less than 3 ft away - very awkward. I am leaving earlier than reserved.
Dirt, with a bit of gravel. Tight spaces. Could not put out awning and slide-out on one side. Men's toilets running over one night. Not just one, but all of them! Screens on windows in bathrooms torn. $60 night (with discount) for this!!! Not worth it, but there really are not good choices for RV camping in Sacramento that I could find. Cannot figure out how this place has such high reviews. Most money we have paid to park and we have travelled across the USA staying in many RV parks along... Read More

small sites but easy to get in and out of. Friendly staff. Older facility with what appears to be lots of repeat family customers. Love having kids enjoying camping but racing up and down roadways in big wheels and bikes was a little annoying. Probably wouldn't stay here again.
Very disappointed. We chose this park because of the high Good Sam rating and description of the facility. Apparently those are outdated. The whole park seemed to be in great need of more maintenance and upgrades. Many of the RV spaces needed more gravel to eliminate mud puddles. Hook up facilities are in bad need of repair or replacement. Restrooms and showers are in need of upgrades.
i enjoyed my stay here. the people are very nice and friendly. the place does need some work and while i was there they were working on the place, i would come back again.
This campground was going through some major renovations at the time of our stay. The campground was clean and quiet with easy freeway access. I attempted to make contact with the campground two weeks prior to our trip. I left message after message asking for someone to return my call so I could modify my reservation. No one ever returned my call. That is the only complaint I had concerning this property. The location has easy access to Old Town Sacramento and the State Capital building. Read More

Hookups need attention, maintenance. Several long term guests who do not maintain a neat and orderly site, and appears that the management does not enforce.
