Let me start off by saying I am probably one of the few people that see things from a everybody perspective so this review is one of those take it for what it is no insinuation type reviews. That said the campground itself is very nice. Very easy to get to off of State Road 1 period depending on which way you come in you may have to take a roundabout way to get here because you cannot turn around nevertheless straightforward and simple and it is about as easy as you can get with any Campground.... Very easy to get to off of State Road 1 period depending on which way you come in you may have to take a roundabout way to get here because you cannot turn around nevertheless straightforward and simple and it is about as easy as you can get with any Campground.
I got to the campground late and they were more than accommodating period they left my site number on the office door and I was able to pull in and unload with relative ease. The one thing I want to caution is bring wood to put your jack on because you're parking on sand. Right now I'm stable but I sank during the night a little bit on one side and it's not the campgrounds fault it's the topography you are literally 3 miles from the beach.
We have a class A coach so use in a bath house was not necessary for us. I did talk to some other people and they are very clean and everything is usable. The camp store is relatively well stocked for a campground Camp store. They have another shop for new and used stuff called the treasure chest but we didn't go in and Shop. They do have a variety of campers here, old, young, new coaches old coaches, new trailers older trailers, tent trailers pop ups whatever you have they pretty much can accommodate.
This is not the ideal place for a rally. I would not have one here for several reasons. The number one reason is because they are a cash-only facility and you cannot ask people that are coming up the road to keep large amounts of cash in their coach and be safe. It's just no longer that type of world we live in so this is not a number one rally destination.
I also would not have a rally here because one would think that the Confederate Army set up here at one point and continued to thrive. It's one thing for the campers to have Confederate flags flying but to have the campground do it and the maintenance man have it on the back of his truck is a wee bit concerning. I have not had any problems whatsoever however that to me is a little bit of a concern and some people would be naturally offended. Being a black guy from Baltimore not really a big deal for me as the people around seemed to be okay I have not run into any issues. I understand some of the other reviews and why that's a concern so I want to make that clear.
The staff is nice but people are people. They probably don't get too many black families here so when I walked into the office there was a look of concern almost nevertheless still was not treated rude and they were more than happy to accommodate anything I needed.
The pool is clean, once you come into the campground you're greeted by a pirate ship that looks really neat, and the price you pay for the campsite is not really bad compared to the location. The one thing I will say is that the sites are tight so you have enough room for your slides but if you have slides on both sides don't expect to put your awning out. You get a picnic table a fire pit and enough room for you in the family but it's not a large campsite by any means. They can accommodate 40ft coach easy however you might have to park your toad kind of funny.
The hookups are second to none. Electric water and sewer are super accessible and if you put a deposit of 20 bucks in for the cable box you can get cable TV otherwise forget getting over-the-air reception. Internet can be spotty. Last night it was pretty good this morning it sucked but that's Campground internet. I've only been to one Campground where the internet was so super that I did not need any help from a booster.
