No one obeyed the speed limit. Our spot was very soft that we had to relevel part way through the week. And leave before a storm was to come in for fear of not being able to get out. We did have full hookup and a pull through. Some areas of the permanents were scary. One night a campsite had a live heavy metal band that could be heard throughout the whole park. It is close to the National Park but there are other campgrounds in the area.

We felt this campground was resting on its past laurels, and the fact that it is close to the pony penning location. Bathrooms are from the 1930s, sites are not particularly clean, and the dump station was overflowing (yuck!). It is also a VERY large camp, with at least half of the sites devoted to permanent trailers. If you want a natural-oriented campground as a jumping off point to Assateague, keep looking. There are more suitable sites closer to the refuge.
