The Good Sam ratings are not close to accurate unfortunately, way overstated! Place is crowded and under some sort of ongoing renovation. Sites are small and cramped. WiFi and cable TV not operational. Not impressive at all. Close to Asheville, Black Mountain and Hendersonville.
Beware of the greed of management here. My wife and I had been dry camping from Mar 11-16 2020 and were unaware how bad things had gotten with the Corona Virus prior our arrival to this park. When we checked in the office was closed due to the virus (A clue that we missed). We paid for a week's stay and planned on doing the usual tourist things. Had a nice gentleman help us to our spot (the only good part of this visit). We finally hooked up our TV and found out about everything and listened to... Read More

Had a nice gentleman help us to our spot (the only good part of this visit). We finally hooked up our TV and found out about everything and listened to President Trump say "Don't Travel & Stay Home. Upon hearing this I called the office and asked about a refund as we were going to listen to the President of the United States. I was told "NO REFUNDS'. We checked in on Tue and left on Thur morning. I sent an email request a refund and got zero response. I asked the office staff through the locked office door about a refund and was told NO REFUNDS. I'm a retired grocery store manager and I know about customer service and I know about profits and I know you can't have one without the other. The management here is all about profit. I hope they choke on my $200. I will NEVER stay here in the future and I will be sure to warn others about the management of this campground.

Pulled in for an overnight on way to vacation destination. Sadly, after quite a long drive, there is a gate and no way to turn around. Called number but was told they couldnt reach anyone to get us a site. Started trying to back a 40 foot fifth wheel down a road at midnight. Very scary! Thankfully the owner lived across the lake and could hear everything and got someone to come get us in. I would NOT recommend going unless you have a reservation.
We are happy that you found us. We always suggest that if you are coming in after office hours to please call to make a reservation. We take our last check-in at 9PM, unless other arrangements have been made.
We stayed for a week while experiencing Asheville, NC and we really enjoyed it. Clean restrooms, well kept facilities, clean pool, and a nice lake. The employees were friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Great place to relax after a long day playing in the area.
We are glad that you enjoyed your stay, please visit us again!
We stayed at Rutledge Lake RV Park in Fletcher NC during the 3rd week of October as part of a rally group. We purchased a premium site (5 nights) on the lake that was supposed to have full hook-ups including cable and wifi. When arriving, it was obvious that there were cable issues in the park. The site next to us had several splitters mounted on the post. We like to watch tv in the evening after returning from day hiking on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The cable at our site was un-watchable. The site next to us had several splitters mounted on the post. We like to watch tv in the evening after returning from day hiking on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The cable at our site was un-watchable. The manager did not seem to care. She said "you have a premium site because you are on the lake and not because of the cable or wifi". She had a very poor attitude and was not customer friendly. The park did not have a knowledgeable maintenance person to try and address this issue. Everyone working at the park had only been there for a few weeks, so there has been a major turnover. Also, the park looks like it has not been maintained/updated for quite a long time. We would not stay here again mainly because of the less then friendly attitude of the management. We were in a motorhome.

Thank you for your review, it helps us to improve our service. Unfortunately, we were having issues with our cable during your stay. We do take care of maintenance issues as quickly as we can. If an outside service needs to be called for repairs, it can sometimes take longer. Lake front sites are considered our Premium sites and our prices are very competitive with all other nearby parks. Terrible customer service by park owner. Inconsistent rates and rules. Advertised amenities were not available as listed. Staff were friendly but had to run every little question or issue by owner before being allowed to provide answer or solution. Owner seems to micromanage from a distance (via text). Even the staff seemed intimidated and/or confused by how the owner was running the park.
This place is a disaster all together... where do I start! First the staff are the rudest I have encountered, Second the owner has no clue about anything. She does not know how to run or handle a business. Just getting a reservation was so much work and then the owner came back and changed our spot and everything that was set up everything was so confusing, then she communicates by text only, really!!!! The prices here are outrageous too, all the other campgrounds around are half the price. Once inside the campground it is definitely not a resort. The sites are tight and most are washed out and very hard to level up. They have a few pull through sites that are ok but not worth the extra fee. All of the street lights are burned out and at night it is very dark, was very hard taking our dogs out to walk. There was nothing to do in the evenings, the building they have for activities was very dirty and the pool table and ping pong was broken all up and missing pieces, really couldn't play on any of it. Then my wife set on the couch that is propped up on wood and fell to the floor, place is useless. The second day we thought we would set by the pool and relax. Two workers a husband and wife kept coming by getting on people about rules with floats etc. and made everyone upset, most left. So we left too you could not enjoy just setting out without being watched by them. The restrooms were nothing special I am not going to go into that. The Main entrance is washed out and repairs obviously were never completed and is very rough going in and out. They talk about having paddle boats as a activity but they were muddy, nasty, full of spiders and webs no way my grandkids would get in them. The wifi did not work our entire stay, Most of the sites seem to be construction workers living there they left very early each morning waking you up very early. Nothing here was relaxing. I can go on and on but for the high prices and mess you get when you stay, it isn't worth it, I would advise going elsewhere save yourself trouble. We have been to hundreds of campgrounds all over the US and this one made me so disappointed. We are not complainers at all but I wanted to save others from the disappointment. The place went downhill in the past 6 years from when we first stayed.

The place is pretty, and easy to get to in Fletcher, just south of Asheville. The hookups work well, with good cable and WiFi. However, DO NOT make reservations on their website. It is a 3rd party vendor, and it overcharges, and does not offer any discounts. Call them on the phone, instead, and verify what you will be charged. When asked for a correction, they do not want to fix it. We are still disputing our charges.
Made reservations on phone for three nights. I asked about pull-thoughs for our 36ft MH and was told there was a real nice wooded site (not a pull through) in the back so I said i would take it. I believe it was site 83 or 84. When we arrived, they handed us a card for site 84 and then took it back and said they needed it for a LARGER MH. The person then handed us a new site. The site they gave us was a DUMP. We were clearly between two permanent residents who were utility workers appearing... Read More

Our MH wheels are about a foot in the air since being leveled. I need a step ladder to climb in. We are next to a permanent looking trailer with a bunch of crap stuck under it to hold it up somewhat level. BY THE WAY IT IS 8PM AND THERE IS NO ONE IN THE LOVELY WOODED SITE WE WERE TALKED INTO TAKING WHEN I RESERVED. WAY TO TO GO TO RUIN OUR LONG WEEKEND IN ASHEVILLE.

We've stayed here 3 times and the park has gone way down hill. The roads are in disrepair, there were gravel piles around that caused loose gravel to be a hazard to pedestrians and bikers, street lights were out, washers and dryers were either out of order or didn't work well, etc. very overpriced for what you get. Many people there had larger, aggressive dogs that they didn't clean up after. Really disappointing because it used to be a nice park.
The park is not close, but convenient via interstate to Biltmore, NC Arboretum, Farmers' Market and downtown Asheville. Sites are close to each other, but road ways are wide. No trouble to back in; some pull thru sites. All roads and site pads are gravel. Some permanent residents. Calling this a resort is a stretch, but it was quiet and the staff was nice and helpful.
I have stayed at Rutledge Lake Park many times and always feel welcome. The facility is very clean, accommodating to families with children and/or pets and is central to so many Asheville area attractions. I have been there twice already this year and plan to go again in the fall.
This place is CRAMPED. You cannot back in a trailer much over 20 feet long and you are piled on top of each other like cord wood. Don't let the pictures fool you, these are of the 3 or 4 best sites they have and not an indication of all the sites, The sites are not separated as shown on the park map but basically pull thru sites you share with another camper, so enjoy sitting out and looking at the back of another camper. Quaint, rustic park. Good for relaxing. Don't go for the ammenites. Store is small and only sold nick-nacks. Feels like you are in the country, but is actually only 2 miles from everything. Best thing about this park is the location.
I would not recommend this campground. It is not so much a campground as it is a trailer park. There are too many run down dirty campers here. They claim to have WiFi, but it is so poor it's more trouble than it's worth. The sites are too small & close together. There is dog feces EVERYWHERE. They also claim to sell propane, but again, don't expect there to always be someone available. You may have to wait a day or two. I paid way too much for what I got.
We also read some online reviews that were pretty negative, but we liked this park. We had a back-in site by the lake/pond. My wife and I are full timers with a 33' fifth wheel and spend a minimum of two days at an RV Park, but because this park was 20 minutes from Asheville, NC we booked 8 nights here. Friendly staff (and handled our package from USPS), level gravel sites, spacious sites, nice office/store, lovely lake/pond, excellent games room (pool table was a bit rough, but it was free).... Great campground, great staff. Just a wonderful place to stay. We will definitely stay here again.
Great place, quiet, secure, friendly staff. Great facilities. I had read some other reviews online that were not favorable, but they were wrong. Another camper recommended this place to me, I gave it a try and was glad I did.
