I have seen reviews about this campground on various sites . . all glowing . . but they are reviewing the event venue in the back of the property & not the actual camping experience. The positive aspects are the wonderful animals & the convenient trolley pick up in the morning. As for the actual camping experience . . I'm sorry to say it is awful. There is a freight train that goes through the campground all night long blaring its horn approximately every 45 minutes. . We stayed there three... Read More

There is a freight train that goes through the campground all night long blaring its horn approximately every 45 minutes. . We stayed there three nights & it was every night. The sites are in an open field with no shade .. right next to a parkway with traffic & bright orange street lights. There are really no camping amenities . . no bath house with showers/toilets and the pool had not been cleaned in looong time. We love Savannah but will not be staying here again. We were absolutely exhausted from not sleeping when we left. If you plan on staying, bring a sound machine or an extra blanket to leave your AC on overnight to muffle the noise,

I was a guest at your RV park 24-26 of July. I wasn't impressed with the customer service of the park. I wasn't able to pull into my site on time because the couple there before us didn't want to pack up in wet grass. They left trash, that we were left to clean up. Cigarettes and broken glass were left everywhere. We were pulling trash out of the bushes. When I called the front desk, she said someone would come by and pick it up. no one ever did. No one ever apologized for our hour an a half... Read More

No one ever apologized for our hour an a half late check in or the trash we had to look at our entire stay BUT when I checked out the owner made sure to tell me she charged those people for late check out. (however didn't offer to compensate me in anyway) I signed up for a good Sams membership in the office as well, something I thought that would be more convenient then doing online but it has caused me nothing but a headache. Good Sam can't find me in the system using ANY of my information and when I called Good Sams, they told me that they didn't see anything had been processed and to call the campground. I called Red Gate more than once to get this sorted out as we have just started traveling cross country and this membership is something that should be saving me money but instead I am negative -$29.00 for NOTHING. When Red Gate finally got back to me they tried to blame it on Good Sams giving me a different membership number. I would have appreciated a little more honesty from them because I know that's not what happened.

Traveling full-time in a 38-foot coach we stayed 3-nights in a site for big rigs (site #10 - Pd $49/night) This was our first visit here. We've stayed in over 400 RV Parks and as far as WIFI goes, this RV park places in the Top Ten! We give this park 5-Stars for the fantastic WIFI! Our AT&T phones worked great here too. This park is a small well-maintained family owned park. The owners are very friendly and fantastic hosts. Big coaches need a gravel pad, so we also give this RV Park a 5-star rating... Read More

Big coaches need a gravel pad, so we also give this RV Park a 5-star rating for the thick gravel pad. Some RV Parks also have very narrow roads which make backing up very difficult, we found this park to have plenty of room to maneuver our coach. Some RV Parks are so dusty that one has to clean their coach after a stay, but not here, the dust on our coach was very minimal compared to many other parks. Our satellite did receive reception. There's plenty of places to walk your dog here. The bad...the road coming into the park has some fairly big potholes. This is a nice place to stay and we recommend it!

I love it at Red Gate. This is my second stay and I will definitely come back. The main campsites are pretty bare bone...essentially a ring of gravel sites in a big field. Most do not have shade. That is clearly seen on the website. There are some other sites through that are beautiful and completely shaded. I stayed by the lake and the site was awesome. There are miles and miles of beautiful fields, a sparkling pool, and beautiful landscaping. The place is primarily a working farm and a site for... Read More

The facility is very dark at night so late check in can be a challenge especially by the office area. Area is very tight. Place is very well kept up but they put campsites where ever possible. One site is in the middle of a road??? what??? yes! If it rains get the rain boots and 4 wheel drive ready. Staff was friendly. Probably would stay again.

Great place !!! Super staff !!! Nice layout with lots of amenities. Very relaxing with lakes, fishing, pool, farm animals. Clean and comfortable. 10 minute easy drive to downtown Savannah. We really enjoyed it.

This is a great campground. Beautiful property. Employees are super helpful, courteous and pleasant. They use the honor system for laundry and ice! I would have rated it higher but the NO SEEUMS are terrible!! I'm still scratching a week later!

Stayed here 5 days. Site 15. Site was level and had a bit of gravel. It was also quite sandy in the area. Hard to put the jacks down since the gravel was so thick. Lots of room for the kids to run. If they like animals, they had cats, rabbits, goats and a couple horses. A very lovely swimming pool, fishing ponds and they had just rebuild a playground set when we were there. The clubhouse had a pool table etc. Looked like the furniture was out of some old mansion. The sites were rather... Read More

The clubhouse had a pool table etc. Looked like the furniture was out of some old mansion. The sites were rather large. It is a lot of gravel and grass. Our site did have shade in the afternoon. Great place to walk around in the early morning or evening. Water and electric worked ok. The electric did go out during a storm that rolled through one night but was back on by morning. The bathrooms in the main building which is in the house, were residential bathrooms, so just like your house, you got the whole thing to yourself. Water pressure was ok. They did have TV area in the house and you could use their kitchen if you wanted to put pizza in the oven. Staff was ok and friendly enough. BUT if you are going to Savannah, this is a great place to stay. We could make it from Savannah back to our RV in about 15 min or so. The location is awesome. Really a relaxing place. If your looking for the total 5 star RV resort this isn't it, but if location is a must and you like the outdoors, this was a nice place. I would go back.

This is a beautiful campground located quite close to downtown Savannah. The grounds are beautiful! There are walking paths around a lake, large open fields and lots of animals for the kids to feed. There were bunnies, chickens, goats and horses, all accessible to the guests. The pool was lovely and very clean. My only complaint about the campground was that there were only two showers readily accessible to our site, and we had to wait quite a long time to use them. The restrooms are in dire... Read More

My only complaint about the campground was that there were only two showers readily accessible to our site, and we had to wait quite a long time to use them. The restrooms are in dire need of renovation, with peeling wallpaper and mold, but at least they were private - a locked door with a sink, toilet and shower.

We only stayed here so my girls could trail ride, Tried to book the trail rides weeks in advance and was told did not need to book just call into the office when you arrive. We did that and where told trail rides where not available on Saturday. Very disappointed, cut our stay short and left next day for Myrtle beach where they got to ride. Not a great site would not stay again.

Very muddy during the rain. Had to drive through deep water to get to the office. Someone was in the site number the wife gave us and then the husband came out and made no sense as to why we couldn't park in the open spot next one over. Sitting in the mud in the middle of the field waiting for husband and wife to figure out what to do. I went back to the office and asked for the next space over and she struggled with allowing us to have it. We were trying to get to downtown Savannah to catch... Read More

It was not a good situation and the sites were not set up for driving into. Rock areas for actual site but mud and grass to get there. Unprofessional.
