Pretty setting. 2 pools WITHOUT WATER. Lazy river WITHOUT WATER. Restroom floors always wet and muddy. Showers drip constantly and take a long time to warm up enough to bathe. Men's restroom has 4 individual showers but only 3 benches. Put-put on site map doesn't exists. Other than that, roads aren't bad, shaded sites are nice, fishing pier is large, and faculty members are friendly.

We stopped here for two nights on our way to Florida so that we could visit Congaree National Park and Charleston. It was very convenient and right off I95, though that also added to some noise at night. The staff was friendly and helpful. The resort was pretty full. We had a pull through site with full hook up, so did not not use any of the facilities. They did have a few pages of rules, though none of them really impacted us adversely. If we are in the area again, we would definitely... Read More

I am glad we didn't read some of the reviews here before we stayed at this park, we may have missed out on a great park. We have stayed here twice now and enjoyed both of our stays. We found the park while looking for somewhere to go that had a plenty of activities for my son and things we could enjoy as a family. Our son is a water bug so the pools, waterpark and lakefront beach were the big draw for him but being able to play mini golf or enjoy the ice cream shop as a family was great for all... Read More

We haven't used the bathhouse so I can't give a rating there, but the campsites are big, clean and level. On both visits the staff at Palmetto Shores has been very helpful and friendly, we have only had one incident with one of the staff members being what we felt was a little overly authoritative over one of the rules. On our last visit my parents rented one of the 1-bedroom cabins, it was nice and situated to have a great view of the lake from the porch. The only complaint with the cabin was the furniture was a little dated and well used but overall the cabin was nice.

This is an OK park, but if you were never in the Military, staying here would be a good approximation. The rules they have for a stay and use of the facxilities result in the equivelent of a Courtsw Marshall if violated. Nothing but threats and don't do that, and with no explanations for why some of the rules have been established. Example, no cotton t-shirts allowed in the pools. Why? No explanation, however, they will gladly sell you a "Swim Shirt" to use. Also, the roads and pads seem to be slowly... Read More

However, the rest of the grounds and facilities we saw are well maintained. It would be an OK place to stay for an overnight, but any longer your going to run afoul of the "Rules".... BTW, we did not use the Restrooms, hence no rating.

After reading reviews I was a little nervous about camping here but after arriving I found this place to be right pleasant. Everyone was friendly and it was nice to be able to lounge around the pool and jump on the golf cart and take a nice stroll around the park. However the Wifi was not the greatest but hey we are camping. We took our two kids, 10 and 2 and they both enjoyed the park as well. Will be returning to Palmetto Shores!

We stayed at this campground en route to FL as we have done several times in the past. It has changed staff and management since our last visit and it was evident. The sites are not nearly as well-maintained nor are the restrooms (trash in several sites, in several sites, restrooms not as clean as usual - bleach would remove many of the water stains). An employee commented that things aren't as nice as they used to be. Many long-term guests. Cable only available on a few sites. Things may... Read More

We will not be returning to this campground. When we arrived at our campsite at about 5:30 pm, there was still a bag of trash from the previous tenant on our site as well as some small bits of trash across the site. We went to play golf, only to discover that the mini-golf course was in total disrepair. We then went to the pool and lazy river - "lazy" being the proper name because it doesn't flow, you just sit there unless you push yourself off the side - and neither was in very good condition.... We went to play golf, only to discover that the mini-golf course was in total disrepair. We then went to the pool and lazy river - "lazy" being the proper name because it doesn't flow, you just sit there unless you push yourself off the side - and neither was in very good condition. Additionally, the pool closes at 8:00 so we barely had time to use it before we were told that we had to leave. Young kids were driving around on golf carts throughout the campground with no adult on board (the oldest child looked to be around 10). The dumpsters were over-flowing and rancid. Also, they fail to mention that the on-site restaurant is only open Wednesday thru Saturday. Cabins take up all of the waterfront sites so that's not an option if you're camping. Some of the staff was very friendly. However, some were unprofessional and unfriendly. They definitely did not make you feel as if you were welcome and that they appreciated your patronage. We left early and will not be going back.

Stayed over night heading to the Northeast U.S. Check in was easy and the office personnel very friendly. We were lead to our site. Roads could be smoothed a bit. FHU Pull thru course sand site was very level and all utilities worked properly. Swimming pool has unique river type set up so you can "tube down the river". Bathrooms were clean and very nice. The supplied wifi was inadequate. ATT and Verizon, both voice and data, is very good. It's a hike to the dumpster.

This place should not be a Good Sam Campground, if for no other reason than the terrible, unlevel sites. If it weren't so late in the day and I was not so tired, I'd be outta here...

When I read the reviews from here and other places I was very apprehensive. But, because of the location I took a chance. The park is very nice. I am very pleased. The sites are roomy and level. The staff is friendly. the wifi is the best I've had in an RV Park. They say you can get 4 channels with an antenna, but we get many more than that. I would recommend this place to anyone!

Overnighted here from I95 on New Year's Day. Staff was very friendly. Our site was large enough for our 43' MH and TOAD without unhooking. Water and electric were fine. This CG is very close to I95 which makes for easy access but you will hear road noise even with your windows closed. We could see cars going by on the highway from our site - its that close. Overall a good stop over. An added plus is the Marathon station across from the CG which had low prices on fuel. It also has truck pumps... Read More

Would not stay there again. We were charged $45.77 for a sand site littered with dog poo. Ran water for 10 minutes and it was still rusty so we did not hook it up and lived with onboard system water for the night. Gave them a 1star because it is better than a rest area or a Wallylot for the night.

Very nice CG. People are friendly and the RV spaces are roomy, mostly pull throughs. Lake front, restaurant on premises, nice restrooms.

I can't speak to the appeal of families to this park but for couples on the move it is a great place to over-night or even spend 2 nights. Easy access from I95 from either North or South. Looks like a great pool there. Bath houses were large, no waiting. But not top notch. Site is on a lake but most sites are not lake front. We found May flies, although in Aug. They need to resolve that problem; very annoying. Best thing about the resort is that it has a really great restaurant on site.... Read More

We would go there again just for the food. If ever traveling I 95 through SC, good place to stop.

We stayed with a group. The staff was very nice and helpful. However we had some issues. The sites close to the lake were unlevel and had lots of ants. We were able to receive good tv reception because no trees close to the lake. The sites were sand, so very hard to keep it out of the RV. The staff was nice to spray for the ants. They also loaned us some boards to help level. Pretty setting but be prepared to level and poison for ants.
