Stayed in their new section...lots of big rigs, plenty of space. Had a little trouble leveling RV but overall, this is a great RV park when travelling thru Albuquerque...highly recommend.

Rented a Big rig spot for one night as we were putting our RV in a shop in Albuquerque for some service work. We booked our site online and reviewed the COVID policies. We had two employees call us to verify our check in time but no one mentioned that ALL the bathrooms were closed. Had we been given this information we would have booked a spot at... Read More

We have been stopping overnight at American RV park for several years on our way east and it has always been a very nice, popular park. On arrival, I guess due to the state being in lock down, I wasn't allowed in the office to register. The clerk opened the outside window to conduct business and her papers went flying from the wind. She gave me a space that wasn't in the big-rig 200 section so I requested a big-rig spot and she that would cost me more. . We got a big-rig spot and set up for the night. There were 3 RV's in the 200 section that had a capacity for 35 RV's First impression is there was hardly anyone camping there. Usually they are close to capacity. Next I noticed the place needed weeding, weeds everywhere. Spoke to the work-camper and was told the clerk was new and that she had initially given me a space my RV wouldn't have fit into. Apparently she wanted to put me where she wanted, not where I wanted. He also said they usually have 15 work-campers on staff but he's the only one and he's swamped with work. Overall we were very disappointed with American RV park and will stay somewhere else next time unless I hear of improvements in the meantime.

Stayed a week. When we first arrived they put up in the front of the park which was very noisy because of highway being close by. Asked for a spot further back in park which we were given. Park wasn't even half full due to Covid19. The spot we were given ran out of water and we had to connect to the next empty spot. Called the office to let them know, but no one answers the phone. Finally, saw a gentleman on golf cart and stopped him. There are some grassy sites which I wish we had gotten... Read More

Unfortunately Albuquerque is just to big and busy of a city for us. Had to find a Vet downtown which was not pleasant. Kids were tearing up the streets, very scary.

We stayed here one night in April, 2020, during the height of the Coronavirus shutdown. We live in Albuquerque, and just wanted to take our little Class A out to stretch her legs and let us have something resembling a getaway! The park is very in tune to the Coronavirus. Essentially, it's become a non-touch park...the gift shop/front desk is closed and all the transaction was done by phone, with our papers waiting for us on arrival. We asked for a spot with a little distance from others and they easily accommodated with a lovely pull through spot with a picnic table, some grass and some nice trees to either side. Some of the long term campers were still pretty close to each other, but based on signage we saw around, they are working to clear folks out and to be open primarily for overnight guests, which will keep the crowds WAY down. Needless to say, we didn't need to use the laundry or restrooms/showers. There are restrooms & showers in the main building and there is also a freestanding facility in the middle of the resort. There is a pool and hot tub...neither looks terribly impressive, but not bad either. The overall park was clean, and the leaves were just starting to burst out on the trees, so it made for a nice spot. Electric was in good shape. The pad was pretty level, so we had little trouble setting up. The water hookup is below ground so that was a little bit awkward. We enjoyed sitting at the metal picnic table on the bit of grass we had, and I used our new portable grill for the first time! So why not five stars? Well, I'd do 4.5 if I could. The water hookup is a slight deterrent . And as others have said, the noise from the interstate is there when you're in bed, for sure. We were in the middle of the resort, but we could hear the traffic all the time. It is NOT terrible...a bit of "white noise" perhaps...but if you think this might be difficult for you, please be prepared. Although most of Albuquerque's nicer RV parks ARE right along the interstate, so it'll be tough to avoid! We had a nice stay, and look forward to a return visit during this time of Coronavirus.

This park is a bit west of Albuquerque but convenient to everything we wanted to do. We spent several nights, venturing out in the days to Santa Fe, the National Nuclear Museum, the National Petroglyph monument, the Indian Cultural Museum, etc. Office and maintenance staff were, to a person, welcoming, pleasant, and helpful. We had a bit of trouble getting our +/-60' MH + car trailer into the first pull-through space assigned to us, but they immediately found us a better space. Sites are level,... Read More

Sites are level, well-organized, and maintained. I-40 sounds like it's about 50' away (it's not quite that close), so there's constant traffic noise. But you get used to it. The facilities mid-park were not clean enough for my husband to feel comfortable using, but those in the main building were just fine. They do serve a continental breakfast, but we didn't avail ourselves. We'd be back.

This park is extremely well maintained, with grass and mature trees making it a nice place to just sit outside and enjoy. All the amenities were as publicized! Wish we could have stayed longer, not for the area so much as for the park! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I have been staying there for the last two years several times. It appears that new private owners may have taken over this RV park, due to the extreme amount of dos and don'ts in their new rules paperwork. There has been added a 3 or so foot tall wrought iron gate for all 3 ways out of the park. Only one for entry, but all 3 can be exits. There is a combo required to enter after hours, or when a workkamper is not available to taxi you in. It opens at the speed of a super slow sloth. Not sure why... Read More

There is a combo required to enter after hours, or when a workkamper is not available to taxi you in. It opens at the speed of a super slow sloth. Not sure why this was added for security purposes, since a person could step over it if they wanted to enter the property and steal something from campers. There used to be a rather good continental breakfast there, but the latest cuisine is puzzlingly inept for just a little something to start your day. They should just quit advertising this in their price. It is certainly quiet at night, and I viewed no neighbors greeting each other, or any activities like getting together in the evening. It was not a friendly place that I saw. With even the hot tub not working, I am not sure why they classify it a "RV Resort". Very disappointed in the overall park this month, although the workkampers are probably doing the best they can. I will pick other parks next time I go back to ABQ for service at my RV dealership there. Not worth the current price.

This would be an absolutely great campground if only the wifi (and the cable TV) were decent. They have a major bandwidth problem with the wifi and just don't know it. If you're willing to pick up and go into the lobby (only open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.) then the wifi is fine. But at the camping ground, it is terrible. You don't just get slow response; you get a "site not found" from the DNS server.

We only stay one night in late Dec 16. Nice and helpful people running the office. Level pad and site, convent hook ups. Pull thur sites were good. No issues with our Jamboree 31U pulling a car. The park is right off I40 somewhat noisy outside the motorhome but inside no issue. Camping World is right across the road that's a plus. We would stay there again.

We stayed here for 2 nights visit the nearby National Park Service sites. This was our second stay here. Not much changed from the first visit. The park is easy to get to & from Interstate 40. Although the park was located near the Interstate, it was pretty quiet as it is on the edge of town. There was an escort to your site. The interior roads were and sites were paved or concrete. There were two sections in the park. The newer section is for larger RV's. The newer section was built on a slope so the majority of sites are not level but they were wide. A power line runs across the middle of new section. We stayed in the newer section. The pull through sites were long enough to accommodate our 41 ` MH and toad. They have full hook ups - water, electricity (50/30/20 APM), & sewer connections - and an outside table on an all weather hard surface pad. The utility connections were about mid-way along the site. There are no trees in the newer section so there was no encroachment on the sites & road. There was sufficient room to open slides. As there were no obstructions to the southern sky satellite reception was good. The older section had trees and grassy areas making it a park like setting so there could be some tree encroachment and satellite interference in that area. The park brochure showed 48 cable channels but didn't mention any broadcast channels. Didn't try to get any broadcast channels. The park provided WiFi was adequate. Our Verizon WiFi hotspot worked well. Didn't try the NET10 phone so don't know about the reception. There were some long term residents located in the older section of the park. This is where the back-in sites are located. There didn't seem to be the usual collection of material associated with these long-term residents as seen in other parks. The fenced pet area was located in the middle of the park. It was covered with what appeared to be shredded rubber. There were bag dispensers around the park to pick up waste. We didn't use the restrooms, showers, laundry room, pool or hot tub. For being in a hazardous/severe weather area, there was no underground storm shelter. None of the structures in the park were identified as a severe weather shelter. We would stay here again. TIP: The staff was very helpful. The complimentary continental breakfast didn't offer much beyond cold cereal, hot beverage and baked goods. There were 2 other nearby parks. The roads & sites in those parks were not an all weather hard surface.

We always enjoy our stays here as we have been there many times. The staff are consistently courteous and helpful. The sites are both roomy and well kept. Restrooms and showers are clean. Stayed 3 nights in a 45 ft. motorhome. Concrete pad pull-thru surrounded by rock. Paved roads with reasonable corners for big rigs. Reasonably close to shopping and sight-seeing. Nice view of the mountains. Very clean restrooms/showers (behind the office). Wifi was "iffy" for a day or so. Easy in/out. This is more of a "9.5" ... almost nothing to complain about.

Our site was right by the bathrooms and they were very nice and clean. All office personnel were very helpful. Cute store and they had a continental breakfast each day. They told us the wifi was not working-we did not need. Pool was not yet open for the season but the hot tub was. Nice. Would love to stay here again.

Nice dog park with supplies and ample walking areas. Good SATV reception and excellent wi-fi signal, best I've had on this trip. ARV serves free continental breakfast 8-10 am, which was very nice. We stayed for a week during the Balloon Fiesta and really enjoyed our stay. Far west part of the city and very relaxing after to be away from the hustle and bustle of being in town. My only complaint was the Internet was not the greatest but was not there to play on the computer anyway.

We have stayed at this park 4 times without issue, however, this time I payed up front for 3 nights not knowing I would wake up after the first night to a leaking toilet. We took the RV to Camping World across the Hwy and they kept it for 3 days. This park had no heart and would not refund the 2 nights we were not there. Not a compassionate company. We will never stay there again.

We stayed twice during September. Both visits were very nice. The continental breakfast was a nice touch. My only negative comment is that the pull thorough sites were not as long as I was led to believe which made it difficult to place the trailer in the assigned location and leave it attached to my truck.

Park and staff were very good. There was a mix up on our reservation and had to put in a less desirable spot. The Internet would not work, the cable was un watchable both after notifying the office. We stayed at American RV because of its location. It is very easy to get to and the staff were great. When I was hooking up my utilities I had to pick up more poop because of the smell and flies. I would stay here again if we can get in the transit area away from the permanent RVs. Read More

The park is super clean, the staff was super nice and helpful, the streets are wide and the pull through spots were amazing. We loved how the staff guided us directly to our spot and helped with getting our 40' rig and tow vehicle parked. We recommend this park to anyone looking for a clean, nice environment. Thanks American RV Park!!

Nice clean park with friendly staff. Easy check-in. We did not have reservations and were put in new area next to busy highway. Water hook-up was a little odd and difficult if your not agile. Nice continental breakfast.

We really enjoyed our stay here at American RV Park. The staff is very friendly and extremely helpful. Facilities are kept up and clean. The RV pad we were assigned was concrete and fairly level, nice long pull through accommodating our 40 foot 5er and truck with no problem. We will definitely stay here again.

The policy states the restrooms, offices, and store are being more frequently cleaned. The problem is when we checked in the restrooms were closed. We had two employees call us to verify our check in time but no one mentioned that ALL the bathrooms were closed. Had we been given this information we would have booked a spot at... Read More

We have been stopping overnight at American RV park for several years on our way east and it has always been a very nice, popular park. Aug 5, 2020 we stopped there on our way home to Tucson and we were very disappointed with the park. I had a reservation for a big-rig space, which we've used before for our 40' 5th wheel. On arrival, I guess due to the state being in lock down, I wasn't allowed in the office to register. The clerk opened the outside window to conduct business and her papers went... Read More
