We really love this campground. You can fish, drive golf carts & campsites are very well maintained. We had for over 15 yrs stayed at another campground but due to the campground not enforcing their own rules we decided to find another place. River plantation is very nice however if internet is a must this campground isn't for you. There is only 2 places you can get internet & 2 of the bathhouses need upgraded. This leaves 2 showers in 1 bathhouse. The people do enforce their rules & that is how we like it however this campground is not owned by an individual anymore. It was bought by a huge company so reserving a certain campsite will be ending because you will get a call center when you call. We really liked that it was owned & ran by an individual. I hope the management doesn't change here.

We loved this CG. The staff was very nice at check-in and welcomed us. They even allowed out daughter and granddaughters to come over and swim who lived locally. The site we had was very spacious and had a concrete patio, and it appears most if not all have the patio. The bathhouses were very nice and well kept. The pools were awesome. Maybe could use some more supervision so the lazy river could be a lazy river and not a swimming pool. The place was very quiet at night. We will be back... Read More

This is a great campground for big rigs. We have a 43ft Seismic toy hauler with a back and side deck. We had plenty of room to let down all of our decks on the site. Most of the sites are pull thru with two sewer hookups as well. They have a fenced dog park which is nice to allow our dog to run free. The pool area is very enjoyable with two pools plus a lazy river. The only negative is most sites are gravel and a little unlevel. After auto-leveling I thought my front end was going to be fully on the ground while the back was five feet in the air. Lastly they do not offer internet throughout the park only in hotspots but we travel with our own service so this was not an issue for us.

Great park with off set spaces, so you are not backed up on your back neighbor. Lots of trees. Even pretty full, the park was quiet. The kids game room was right across from our space, but was so well insulated we couldn't hear the kids playing. Great park, we would stay there again.
We have camped at this park many times, and usually love it. It's quiet, the sites are not too close to each other, and it's convenient to attractions. However, the wi-fi is a huge issue. And, the response from the office was no help when we called. They said that it was because there were a lot of people in the campground, and everyone was on at the same time. They said that the best way to use the wi-fi was at the office--we were welcomed to come to the office and use it. That is not acceptable... Read More

We do not stream movies, or videos, but we do get on the internet while we are vacationing. They should not advertise that they have wi-fi throughout the park because 90% of the time we were there (for five days) were were not able to get on the wi-fi. Otherwise, we love the park, and will return, if the wi-fi is fixed.

Convenient to many attractions in the area. Most sites are gravel, the outer roadway loop is paved. Many sites had a concrete patio. We had a river site. Many golf carts and bicycles use the path along the river as a race track. Only path to river is through campsites. Sites are about 30' apart. Internet was spotty. Bathrooms were fair.
Location is great, close to the attractions, but before the traffic got heavy. The pool areas were great for the kids to unwind after a day of hitting the sites. The park personnel were friendly, helpful when needed. Problem with power when we checked in after 5 PM, corrected immediately(c. Breaker replace). We look forward to returning next summer for a 10 day stay. Highly recommend this RV park.
We had a very pleasant stay at this campground. Spaces were large with a nice fire ring and picnic table. Spots on the river are very beautiful. Will definitely be staying again next visit.
The location was great. It is close to everything. Because the campground was in the valley, it didn't sound like you were close to everything. We had originally reserved a river site, but due to some work conflicts had to change the date of arrival. The person on the phone had no problem moving the arrival date, and was super friendly about the changes. As large a campground as this is, we had expected more in the pool area. The pools and the lazy river were so small and crowded, that we... Read More

As large a campground as this is, we had expected more in the pool area. The pools and the lazy river were so small and crowded, that we did not even try to get in.
I'm not sure if all the sites were the same with this issue, but the concrete pad at our site was too high for our steps to extend fully, so we had to park to the side of the pad. The fire ring was close to a tree and the neighboring site, so we did not use it.
The "dog park" should have some kind of fence.
One afternoon, my 2 teenagers went to the arcade. Half the games didn't work at all. Some took their money and wouldn't refund it after the game didn't start. The air hockey was missing the puck.
There is a lot of golf cart traffic and they did not like sharing the road with real vehicles. Although that is not necessarily the park's fault.
We had to leave early due to medical reasons, and the lady at the desk refunded the additional day's fee. That was not expected and was a nice surprise. We had no issues with the employees or any of the campers near us. Everyone was friendly.
The campground needs a few updates. If we were to come back to this area, we'd consider coming back to this campground.

Stayed there over the weekend great place friendly only thing needed is a dog park where a dog can play off leash if needed to. Will stay again
PROS: Great location to stay for all the attractions in the area. Just far enough away from the heavy commercial area. Clean campground and restrooms, sites were either shaded or partially shaded, level and most were gravel. Cement pad for picnic table, fire rings. Some sites were for seasonal rentals and were all nicely kept. River for fishing on the property, arcade for the kids. Ice cream truck visited a couple of times a day. Zip Line course located at the exit, RV wash located on premises and, for $5 you could get a "Wash Pass" to wash your own RV.
CONS: Dirty looking pool. Although temps were in the 90's, I wouldn't go in it, picnic tables need repair, fire rings too close to neighboring sites (not much can be done about that).
There didn't seem to be a limit on the number of dogs you could have (one small trailer had 4) and many yapped early in the AM and throughout the day, especially over the Memorial Day weekend when there were even more dogs. Way too much golf cart traffic. Avoid holiday weekends if possible.
Management was helpful and accommodating, but probably just too busy over holiday to routinely check out the conditions at sites. During the week, a very nice park, except for the pool and barking dogs.

As far as the park goes, pretty basic sites with an average amount of space between you and your neighbor. A large park with lots of shade if you are in the interior of the park, not so much around the edges or by the river. We stayed on a river edge site and had close to 40 yards of green behind our spot to the river edge. River is muddy/brown, not very picturesque for the area and I was a bit disapointed (certainly not the campgrounds fault). Overall, campground was quiet when it needed... Read More

Overall, campground was quiet when it needed to be, facilities are well maintained and the front desk personnel were friendly and accommodating. The pools (yes, more than one plus a lazy river) are well maintained and clean. Kids had a great time here. Oh, and the boxer in the camp office is just a great dog! Only downside to staying here is that you are on the Sevierville/Pigeon Forge border and to get into Gatlinburg or the National Park you have to run the guantlet that is Pigeon Forge. On a busy June day, that could mean easily 45 minutes or more of battling traffic.
Overall, I would recommend a stay here and would not hesitate to return.

This used to be the best, bar none. Seems to be declining as of late. Horrid wifi, and we have a signal repeater. When you talk to then about it in office, they will tell you it's your computer or device. Same thing they said 2 years ago when visited. Also told my wife that GoodSam discount is already included in posted price, when we arrived, the check in lady said,"ok, let me put that discount in" and charged us posted price anyway. Bathrooms are not filthy, but not clean either. 2 days of... Read More

Bathrooms are not filthy, but not clean either. 2 days of 4 we stayed had all toilets clogged up.
Is our opinion that this used to be a great place, but dollars became more important lately. It is disappointing because we know how good they used to be, and the location is fantastic.

This is our go to place in the Smoky Mountains. There's nothing about it that would make us even look elsewhere. It's on the Parkway in Sevierville, within minutes of 1000s of tourist activities, literally. Lots of room everywhere, from checking in to access roads and sites. It seems management actually is concerned about things that will make clients want to come back.
Very nice resort. Large camp spaces. Very friendly folks.
We always try to stay at River Plantation when visiting Pigeon Forge. This campground is very inviting aesthetically as well as personally !! Pet friendly and a very quiet, relaxing atmosphere ! You can enjoy an early morning walk, then a cup of complimentary coffee sitting in a rocker by a fire pit !! Life can't get any better than that !!
My wife and I had the fantastic experience staying at River Plantation during the recent Tiffin Allegro Club Rally. We arrived a day in advance and when the four day event was over we stayed an extra night. There were 215 coaches and 460 people in attendance. The park handled it with ease! The seasonal residents were not even phased by the overwhelming influx of activity from this event. There wasn't a site available in the entire park yet there wasn't any sign of people being stressed out. Why... Read More

Why you ask, well the park is quite large. The facilities are first rate. The staff is professional, helpful, and polite. Bathrooms were serviced and clean. The pool was wonderful and the new lazy-man river is a fantastic place to unwind.
Meals were planned and served in their 400 seat convention center/meeting hall. Every site is almost perfectly level making bike riding a fun low impact exercise option.
I know I don't have to say anything about their location other than you are in the center of the area that you came to visit. Everything is right there within minutes of the main entrance. About the only thing I can say that was wrong about my stay is the fact I didn't book an additional week there after the rally was over.
As a famous individual once said......."I'll be back!"

EXCELLENTLY!! My family and I camp here at least 6 times a year more if possible. The park is clean, kid friendly. You are close to everything without being right in the middle of it all. They have a very friendly staff. They have cook outs and crafts, movie nights, cornhole tournaments. They have a 2 pools. Lots of fun. Can't wait for our next trip here. I would recommend this campground to anyone.
Resort is quiet, clean, and well taken care of by the owners. Nice size lots. The only reason I did not give it all 5s is because the WiFi was terrible: so slow and would not connect. We were off the grid during our 5-day stay. The cable was fuzzy. We used our antenna for tv.
GREAT RV PARK!! We stayed for a week and wish we would have stayed longer. This resort is right on the edge of town, so we were close to everything. DO NOT rely on your GPS. Their web site stated that but we didn't listen and that made for a few unpleasant minutes trying turn get turned around. This is a family oriented park with lots of activities. Everyone was friendly and we made several friends. This will be our park of choice when we are in that area.
