If I could give this RV resort 5 more stars for a PERFECT 10 I would. We have camped with our travel trailer a couple times now. Each time was wonderful. Staff goes above and beyond to make your stay perfect. Most sites are gravel, level and not too close to the next camper. Grounds are easy to maneuver a 34 ft travel trailer. Did I mention the STAFF?? They are amazing! Keep up the great customer service Angels Camp RV Resort, I am looking forward to staying with you again for the next Ironstone... Read More

Somewhat disappointing. The staff was friendly, but the park needs considerable work. Granted I was there after a large storm hit CA, but even given that, the park is rundown. (It is really a 3.5 star park, not 4. But given that much of the damage to the park was from a recent storm, it did not seem fair to mark them as a 3 even though that is its current condition.) It is NOT a 9.5 or even a 9 as per the Good Sam rating, in my opinion. It is more like an 8 when compared to other parks.... Read More

Issues this "resort" needs to improve on.
#1- They need to hire a Gardner. The grounds are in desperate need of care! ALL of the trees and bushes needed to be trimmed. BE CAREFUL where you drive with your RV or you will hit tree branches.
#2- The roads and spaces are horribly damaged from rain. Yet again another park with "dirt and gravel" spaces instead of blacktop or cement. The spaces are very uneven and need fresh gravel!
#3- Not BIG RIG friendly. The spaces are extremely narrow. If you have a new RV with huge slide-outs, you will not fit in most spaces. And those that you do, you will NOT be able to have a table alongside your rig.
#4- Not dog friendly. No spaces for your canine friend to do his business and no pet bags, like almost every other park, to pickup his business with.
#5- No enforcement of trash around full-time RV folks. They have a large number of permanent RV members. Many of those RVs have accumulated considerable "trash" around their RVs which makes the park look "getto" in places.
Lastly, there are some positive factors. Friendly staff. Quiet area. They have a horseshoe pit and volleyball net. Also nice small areas for those with tents. (The tent areas seemed to be better kept then the RV spaces... or it could be those areas are just not used much, not sure.)
In conclusion, this "resort" is not really a resort. It is nice private park for what it is. It is better than some, but also worse then some... therefore I rate it average to above average. But with some grounds work and maintenance, which clearly has been deferred for sometime, it could be much better.

This campground is fairly old but not run down. It is very clean, well patrolled, very quiet, and has a lot of amenities that you would not expect in a small park. The rest rooms are old however they were exceptionally clean. The store is very small and only has the bare necessities. The organization and management personnel should be used to train other parks how to perform customer service. The system used for incoming campers is so simple and works. The people are just the best to deal... Read More

If you are going to the California foot hills this is the best.
Note: Recommend you have a dingy to see all the sites in the area.
