We had stayed here a few years ago and had a great experience, this time started out not so good. I requested a pull through site because I have a 40 ft motor home and pulling a car. Alot of sites are obvioulsy not level but not to the point that a few leveling pads wouldnt fix, however there are a few that are really bad but it looks like they are not even letting people book those sites. We were in site 338 (pull thru) trail M (Red) which again was not level but just added 2 pads on the one side and it leveled up fine. Very peacefull and quiet. I will say trail N (Red) is a no for us. Looks like alot of long term campers that do not keep up appearences. I am not sure if they park employees or what but do not stay on that loop. People were super nice in registration and all around the park. We have already booked several more days thru out the fall.

Stayed in a 40 ft motor home - towing. I really enjoyed the premium sites, and part of the park. The spots are crush and run and gravel but level and spacious. Never felt crowded. The camp ground does require a fee to the Amusement park to enter the facility. You get a pass at the camp check in to come and go. If you tow, it is a bit inconvenient to hook up when you leave. We drove to the overflow golf parking and got it done. The sites we stayed in had a fire ring, camp style grill and a table provided. Some have gas grills and private decks. Golf, wonderful hiking trails, boat and water craft rentals are all near by. We took a trip to downtown Decatur and saw a Braves game one night. All conveniently located. Read the recommended entrance directions to avoid narrow and low overhung residential areas. See the Laser show. We did not use any laundry facility. Thanks - Stone Mountain workers. The "full time Rv'er" who checked us in, the "Nana of 3" at the Camp store and Ms. Peggy at the entrance. We will be back!

This is a beautiful park !! Camp sites are spacious and the scenery is beautiful. The park includes sites for motorhomes, fifth wheels, trailers and primitive camping. It is very family oriented so if you don't like kids, stay away on the holiday weekends. The WiFi was ok but we were there largely during the week and with some rainy weather. Better bring your hotspot !

Beautiful campground and sites! If you cannot find what your looking for here you are just too darn hard to please!! The area is beautiful and there is lots to do. Sites are awesome with lots of character. Get here during daylight though if you have a site on the "trail". They are challenging to back in to in the dark but fine with daylight. Coach Carter is a fine gentleman and someone who you wished you lived next door to at home! Everyone has been very nice and helpful during our stay. The campground is clean, quiet and just very nice. There are wooded areas to walk and a golf course just down the road. Stone Mountain is something to see and there are many other activities in the park itself. We love it here and will be back year after year. Thank you for a wonderful stay. The Freids

The campground is close to the big city so it is convenient to go into town to enjoy all that Atlanta has to offer. All kinds of sites are available and one must be wary if driving a large motorhome or trailer as to accessing and leveling from the rough paved roads. The campground could use some improvements to the camp sites. It appears the focus is on building new Yurts for folks without RV's and consequently the campsites are neglected in my opinion. 50 amp power was good, WI-FI was adequate... Read More

We stayed at Stone Mountain Campground June 29th - July 3rd 2018. This campground is unique. It has something for everyone. It offers shuttle service to other areas of Stone Mountain Park. I recommend booking early to insure securing a premium site. Some sites are heavily shaded however their is no need to operate your satellite as they supply cable TV. Highly recommended. We plan to return next year.

The staff is super nice which helps but the sites and attractions are way over priced for what they were. Our site was dug back in a bank of a hill and not really big enough for our camper. The entire site was covered dead in leaves and was not very wide. The cable was not bad, however the Internet was useless for even checking email. We ended up leaving two day early.

The staff are all very friendly. There seem to be plenty of bathrooms in each section. I noticed the bathrooms being serviced about twice a day. However, I am not sure what they are doing to clean them. No one ever takes a broom to knock down or sweep away the spider webs. And there are a lot of webs and spiders, we're in the GA after all. I find myself having to dodge webs in multiple areas of the bathroom. The door is left open each night too and so the lights attract more bugs and by the time you need to use the facilities in the am it is filled with all kinds of bugs. The laundry room is the same. Expect to be doing your laundry in a web filled area. I had about 10 different spiders just hanging out watching me. If someone were to leave a broom around, I'd be happy to wipe down all the webs in those areas, but it's not my job and it's not cheap to stay here. The other thing that you must know about is that many of the sites are not level. We pulled in to our assigned spot in the dark and it took a long time for my spouse to level our trailer because of all the bumps and curves from the black top. We saw multiple people trying out multiple spots because of the same thing.

It was very dangerous for the bikes and the campers trying to get in and out. Definitely need a bike lane. We didn't use any of the facilities or the pool.

We have a 28 ft travel trailer and chose a premium spot next to the club house for the ease of getting in and out. Two items of importance to us were poor. First, the wifi is almost nonexistant. Second, the television, fans and air conditioners in the clubhouse run 24/7, which create noise. On the plus side, the sites had about 20 feet between them and ours was easy to back into and get out of. We had access to a gas barbeque which we did not use, and the shuttle to Stone Mountain was convenient. We had to pay the additional $15 parking fee when we arrived but never drove to the attractions. Overall, it's my opinion that the price for a premium site is too high for the offered services. If I ever come back I would choose a non-premium spot knowing that I would have essentially the same services (minus the barbeque) without paying as much and without all the noise.

We booked our stay online. We got a site that was level and had cable. When we arrived we were told that the spot we booked no longer has cable. we asked about price difference and was told it's the same price. Our site was not level tree roots was growing under the slab. We ask to move and they did not help us out. Our camper was barley on the site after setting it up. The staff was rude and the maintence people just sit around all day chat with each other. We will never stay here again.

There is also a theme park located in the park and we found it to be priced like other theme parks like Disney, Cedar Point and Kings Island to name a few. The staff at the campground and the area facilities were all very helpful and friendly. The park has it's own police station and were constantly on patrol and available for assistance. Most of the park activities were closed down at the time of year (in between Thanksgiving and Christmas) and do to weather so we have decided that we will make a return trip next summer to take advantage of the entire area in better weather.

Sites are gravel and somewhat unlevel. Some drop offs; particularly on sites backing up to lake, but the great views seem to make up for these deficiencies. The park is beautiful. Lots to do; only bring your wallet. There is a charge for everything. Your $15 entrance fee entitles you to park (but not in the campground, unless you are camping) and walk up the mountain. For everything else there is a charge. We visited the museum and rode the tram up the mountain for $15 each and I thought it was worth the money. We did not pay or visit other attractions in the park.

It is a couple of miles past the west entrance of the park. - The park sent us an email a couple of days in advance reminding us of the low clearance level on the east gate and directions on how to get to the west gate. Nice action on their part. - The roads inside the campgrounds are badly in need of repair. Driving slow is a must, even without the rig. - Lots of sites, so look closely before you book. The sites are on hills, and elevation is not indicated, so it is easy to get one that is on a incline or low spot. We chose a site far from the office because it looked less crowded, not covered by trees and had a view of the lake. We had no problems backing in our 34' rig and satellite worked great. - Forget wifi. It never worked. Fortunately, Stone Mountain is close enough to Atlanta to get good cell coverage so we used our cellular data lines. - The pool is small, but nice. We were lucky enough to be there mid-week after school started so it was completely empty. But it closes at 6. Why a campground would close a pool that early is beyond me. - The shower / bathroom facilities were old and unattractive. One look and I never used them. - There is the Stone Mountain entrance fee of $15 that is not included in the camping price. Irritating but to be expected. - There is no better access to Stone Mountain Park than this campsite. Despite the negatives, the sites are beautiful and it is really convenient to move around the park from this campsite.

Corporate Office had no response when we emailed, but local management did refund wifi cost, when requested. I grew up camping at SMP every summer of my life, and loved it. Upon entering campground, there were not clear signs on where to check-in. The paved roads were so faded, it was hard to see where the lines were on where to park with the camper. After check-in, we were off to our campsite. But because of the i-entrance being a two-way road on a clearly one lane space, it was hard to get the camper to the site without someone else coming the opposite way. After seeing our site and attempting to back it in, we had difficulties because of all the vehicles in the street, other peoples tents and camp supplies surrounding it. The first stop after setup was the closest bathroom. Which was terrible! The paint was peeling off the bathroom floor, which was full of toilet paper, bugs and hair. We did find that the bathrooms closer to the rv sites were a good bit nicer than the ones near the pop-up and tent sites, which i feel is biast. Needless to say, the water spray and pressure in each bathroom that we attempted was horrible! The next day, we attempted to go to the pool. But because there were 100 people at the pool and only 30 or so chairs, we were one of the many who were forced to sit on the concrete. You would think that the largest campground in georgia with 441 sites would have more than one pool! Makes no sense. There were so many kids in the pool, that no adults could even get in! And if they did, they were immediately hit with a ball in the face or a big splash! And no one was checking for pool-passes! Anyone could have been at that pool and no one would have known! No one checked campground passes on cars either, so anyone could have been at the campground and no one have known either! Or at the pool, without a pool pass! There was no `quiet time' set through the campground, and if there was, it was not enforced. There was loud music all through the night. The sites were terrible. If there was 10 foot of space, there was a spot number on it. No privacy at all. Some tents were two feet from the road! Not safe for kids at all! No one in their right mind would choose a site that is uneven! And there were many and many of them! The gravel, instead of pavement, on each site made it more difficult to manuever the camper into it's position! The roads were terrible. There were huge roots growing throughout the roads, making large holes and it difficult to drive on, especially pulling a camper. I will not be back to this campground. It was the worst one i have ever been to, and i have been to many throughout the south for the rate we had to pay, especially for a holiday, i would have expected a lot better than what we got. I was severely let down!

Relatively expensive. Our free WIFI did not work. Site was basically on the shoulder of the loop road, paved but small and un-level. Disappointed with high cost of Stone Mountain village. Facilities long walk from site (did not visit restroom). Town of Stone Mountain has a great German pub/restaurant. Would not return.

This is a wonderful park with very spacious back-ins. Lots of amenities nearby. Only problem this stay was the Wi-Fi didn't work at night when most guests were back at their RV's. It became quite frustrating.

I totally agree with other review submitted previously. For the money you pay to stay here, this should be the Taj Mahal of campgrounds...NOT!!! I camped here 10 or so years ago, and had heard they had made numerous improvements.NOT!!! My campsite was a lakeside site, but like the other reviewer stated, my camper was 10, maybe 15 feet, above the water level of the lake, and perched on a pile of dirt and gravel. I literally had to grab and hang on to the underframe of my camper to do my hookups.... Read More

The fire ring for my campsite (#339) was down a steep slope covered in leaves and pinestraw, with no visible steps.just a washed out gully. The roads in the campground are full of ruts and half-patched potholes. The Mountain itself is spectacular, and offers a wide variety of things to do and see. It's a shame that the campground is in this condition, and that there's no other campground within 25 or 30 miles. The staff was very pleasant and helpful.

The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. The pool is small for such a large campground. The amenities are fabulous & just being below the mountain and on the lake is a real treat. You will be charged a park entry fee of $15.00 when entering. You would think that the park would have included it with your campsite cost. Lot's of places around to eat and acquire food just east of the entrance. Be sure to read the instructions about using the main entrance to enter. The west entrance... Read More

The west entrance is only 11 feet high and will not accommodate most Motor homes or 5th Wheels. We were not able to see the slope of the sites or the view of the sites when booking online. Unless you have a "Premium" site near the office, you may be disappointed with the smallness of the site and its location. I have a 35' 5th Wheel that looked over a 10 foot drop at the rear. Had to remove my bikes before backing into the site or never would have been able to get to them. Many sites are on top of each other. Some sites have a wall of dirt at the back side. They need to show sites so that RV'ers can decide on where to park their unit. Also, the water pressure blew out my hot water tank. Have gone out and bought a regulator that measures the pressure. Don't know if this at all sites, but was on Site 291 for sure.

We had stayed here a few years ago and had a great experience, this time started out not so good. I requested a pull through site because I have a 40 ft motor home and pulling a car. The site was extremely unlevel and I couldn't level my RV. I went to the office and requested another spot, they were apologetic and marked several spots for me to look at and pick what I wanted. Pay the extra for the red spots it's worth it. Campground are clean and well kept. Some of the roads need some maintenance.... Read More

Would definitely recommend and I would visit again.

So we were very hesitant to stay at this campground due to the reviews but we were pleasantly surprised. The park is old and yes the roads are a little rough but not as bad as the reviews made it seem. We drove the entire campground to check out sites and some roads are worse than others but they are all passable. So all of the Purple and Orange sites are all good from what we saw and we noted several that have better views than others. The sites that are more questionable are in the Red and Blue... Read More

So all of the Purple and Orange sites are all good from what we saw and we noted several that have better views than others. The sites that are more questionable are in the Red and Blue sections.

Beautiful lake view spots with a clean pool and clean available rest areas. The best thing is the workers and staff within the RV facility! Check in was wonderful and informative. The lady at the park entrance was great. The workers within the camp store offered area suggestions that were direct on the money!. I was super... Read More

The lady at the park entrance was great. The workers within the camp store offered area suggestions that were direct on the money!. I was super pleased with the service.
