The Takeaway: A neglected rv park with no maintenance nor grounds keeping. There are better stopovers along the I10 corridor in this area. If the reason for visiting is New Orleans, which we assume it is for most of us vagabonds, we suggest booking at a real class A rv resort 30 minutes North of New Orleans and driving into NOLA for day trips to return to the pleasant experience of a class A resort with all the amenities. We stayed here April 2014 and May 2019. Go to www.rickpicks.com for other... Read More

Website makes this park look nice but it is not. We were given a site that was very narrow and full of debris. When we came out our door we were only a few feet from our neighbors sewer hose. Grass was full of burrs. We took over a dozen off our dogs after we walked them. On Saturday night there was a band playing in there bar. They were so loud it sounded like they were right outside our RV. They played until after 11:30 PM.

One of a couple of RV parks in the city of New Orleans, they charge a premium (avg $90) for the benefit of being closer to the action, especially when we were visiting during Mardi Gras. For the money, I would expect paved roads and wifi, but the roads were either quicksand mud pits when it rained or dust bowls when it dried, either way, you're not keeping your rigs clean here. And the wifi situation is simply not acceptable. Management acknowledged to me that they were well aware that it was "non-existent". Otherwise this park is very nice and exceptionally well managed and staffed with friendly, courteous efficient people. Pool and spa on site. Nice general store. Restaurant and bar upstairs with live music. Restrooms and laundry clean and operational. Verizon signal good (as I would expect within a large metro area) so hotspot was adequate for email and internet. Sat signal good too. Cable available. Launch ramp on site for kayaks and small boats. Park is about 6 miles away from French Quarter and offered a $6 shuttle into town which was nice. Uber rides averaged about $20. This place is located adjacent to a navigation canal between Lake P and the Mississippi with a working marina next door and in the flight path of an airport servicing the local national guard so there was a bit of noise. Otherwise there is zero attractiveness in the immediate surroundings which are a mix of semi-abandoned industrial complexes on a horrible access road. There is a Walmart within a mile and a great grocery, Rouses, a bit further. "Dining" in this neighborhood involved a selection of fried chicken fast food.

Grounds well laid out. At our request, park staff located us and three fellow RV travelers in adjacent pull-through sites in the "buddy" section. Staff very helpful and friendly. Giving "facilities" a 4 star on account of muddy roads (it rained every day we were there). Several truckloads of gravel would go a long way to remedy this inconvenience. Otherwise, perfect. I loved this place so much I stayed 2 extra days. Lots of other campers, not gonna lie, but made it festive and easy to chat with other folk. The restaurant is very good and reasonably priced. Great place to sit out on the balcony and unwind from a day of touring the city. The shuttle runs 2x per day for $6 round trip per person and is super worth the whole adventure. Just slow down and there's nothing that's gonna shake the spam outa your galley cabinets. The park is right at ground zero for the levy breech in the 9th ward, so there's some interesting stuff to be learned about how this resilient city shrugged off one of the worst natural disasters this country has ever seen.

As other reviews indicate, this RV resort is located in a waterfront industrial area. Driving in on a very rough narrow road makes you wonder what you've got yourself into. Arriving at the RV park, we found a nice gated facility with pull-through gravel sites, cabins, and marina. There is bar/restaurant onsite, pool, plus a store for basic supplies. No problems with the utilities. Cable but weak WIFI. Did not use the restrooms or showers. We came to visit the French Quarter, so their shuttle service... Read More

Would return.

We stayed at Pontchartrain Landing for 5 days for the 2018 New Orleans Jazz Festival. The location was easy to get to from I-10 coming from the east, since we avoided towing our 5th wheel through downtown New Orleans traffic. Agree with other reviewers about the potholes on France Road approaching the site, but OK if you go slow, and not that different from the poor condition of many other streets in this city. Agree with other reviewers about the potholes on France Road approaching the site, but OK if you go slow, and not that different from the poor condition of many other streets in this city. Check-in was easy and efficient. The restaurant and bar, with live music almost every night, were big pluses for this resort. Pool and hot tub were clean. We were in site 122 near the entrance, and the internet signal was OK too slow for streaming movies, but pretty reliable. For the $90/night price we paid, I would expect better. The roads and sites in the resort are all gravel, and a little dusty. Many of the palm trees looked dead. Not sure if this was because of earlier flooding in the area, or just lack of upkeep of the landscaping. Overall, I rate this campground 4 stars would be a 5 if not so pricey and the roads/pads were paved. I'd stay here again if I could get a better deal on the daily rate.

The park is well maintained and right on the canal. Sites are a little narrow but there are palms planted in between each one that offer privacy. We were in Site 43, had full hook-ups with no issues on any, a picnic table and it was just long enough for our 37-foot Class A, tow dolly and parking the car. They pick up garbage at your site. The laundry room was clean but most of the machines didn't work. WiFi was weak and our Verizon signal was just okay. Lots of place to walk the dog and a fenced dog run. There is some plane and train noise but not bad. We stayed January 30 - February 6, 2018 and $48.00 a night with our Passport America discount.

Easy access. Nice area for our dogs. Friendly staff. Lots of dust due all the gravel. They could use a water truck to help keep all the dust down. Next time in New Orleans we'll stay there again.

This resort was perfect! Great pool, hot tub, clean. Sites are plenty big! We will stay here again! After reading other reviewers here are my suggestions.. yes the shuttle is limited routes. That they provide a shuttle is fantastic!! Get an Uber if you want to return or go later. Uber picked us up and brought us home. The shuttle is free! Restaurant bar was very clean, staff was friendly. I love this place!!!

Pontchartrain Landing has some obvious pluses, the first being the personnel there. Our visit there was our first RV experience, with our first RV. Can't say enough about the helpfulness and cheerfulness we encountered from everyone who worked there. With that being said, Just getting to the landing, was an exercise in vehicle handling and suspension. The approach road was like washboard and the campsites and roadways were pea gravel--some of which had not been filled in or graded for a long while.... Read More

With that being said, Just getting to the landing, was an exercise in vehicle handling and suspension. The approach road was like washboard and the campsites and roadways were pea gravel--some of which had not been filled in or graded for a long while. A lot of dust was raised as vehicles and the RV go carts passed by. The main restrooms and showers showed some need of maintenance, but the secondary showers/restrooms were relatively brand new. The on-site store and the bar and grille were very pricey. Location from the various New Orlean sites was good, but make sure your GPS or Google Maps has been updated. Navigating around New Orleans isn't easy. Overall, the location and employees are the biggest plus for Pontchartrain Landing. It's on the water and in a reasonable distance from all the New Orleans attractions. Just make sure your suspension is good and everything in your RV is secured well....the approach road will jar your molars.

The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The facility is surrounded by a privacy fence but the surrounding area feels like a questionable area and not easy to find. The waitstaff was very friendly and the restaurant wasn't at all crowded. The pool is clean but small. There is a playground but it's a small one. The park itself is very well maintained.... The entry into the park brings you onto all gravel roadways. The park is maintained very well with nice landscaping. Pontchartrain Landing advertized various sites based on location and view. Our site was requested to be on the water with a view of the River. We had a requested a water view which was mid-priced. This was kind of what we received. What we actually received was a view of three Floating Vessels and if you turned your head out the door enough you saw the water. For the extra price, it's not worth it. They do have a shuttle service. The negative with the shuttle is that it only picks up from one location downtown and only at 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. which leaves you downtown for a long time walking around if that's your choice of transportation. The other negative of the park was the complete lack of Wi-Fi. They advertise Wi-Fi but we were never able to log in unless we walked over to the office and sat outside. If you want a place to stay that is 15 minutes from Downtown and the French Quarter, this would be the place to stay but it's a little pricy, the staff is not all that friendly and you will not get internet. If you want to use the shuttle, plan on being downtown all day. Pick up is rare.. I believe it's overated by Good Sam.

Park is in industrial setting of New Orleans. A little confusing at times getting in and out but overall nice place to stay. It was extremely hot so make sure your A/C's work if you are coming in the summer. Had nice shuttle to downtown available if you did not want to take a car, The only reason I gave this a 3 star appeal is location. Once inside the RV park I would rate it a solid 5.

I wasn't impressed. The biggest issue for me is that the entire campground is crushed rock. Much of the rock has turned to dust, so after a day or so, dust covers everything. I did not use any of the facilities. Most of the staff was friendly.

Pontchartrain Landing is nice, clean campground on the water in NOLA. Very clean restrooms, convenience store, and nice restaurant with entertainment on the site. Very friendly staff, Shuttle to downtown New Orleans is great, but the last one returning to the campground is at 8pm ( 9 or 10 would be more accomodating) I agree with the reviewer about the road to the campground being horrible. Overall, we loved it and we would stay there again.

The real convenience of this campground is the fact they are only about 15 minutes from Bourbon Street. We would stay here again.
