Small park located on the Pigeon River and part of a larger complex for white water rafting. Poorly maintained gravel roads and sites. Sites not close to level. Staff not around most times in spite of posted hours. Not much in the store other than beer. Nice pool and playground. Cabins look new as does the office/pavilion. WiFi is basically useless. Not very much in the general area other than white water rafting.. Reasonably close to Gatlinburg which is a plus. Unless your desire is to... Read More

A very nice campground situated between the Pigeon River and I-40. We visited in mid March and the place was not completely open, then COVID-19 shut everything down. The Good: - Scenic location with river rafting within 50 feet of your site. Site has put in ramps for your canoes, kayaks if that is your thing. - The grounds are clean and well kept, as were the laundry and facilities. - The staff were very friendly and helpful. - Hookups were easy and worked well. - Close location to remote part... - Close location to remote part of Smokey Mt National Park and hiking areas. - There is a pool on site, but it was not open in March. - Its easy to get to from I-40. The Not so Good: - Few, if any, trees and no any privacy between RV sights. They are too close to each other. - The gravel RV sights need to be leveled up a bit, ironic given the overall flat location of the site. - Once off the gravel, the ground was muddy. - The small playground is there just so they can claim they have one. - Because of its location so close to I-40, there was a LOT of truck noise which kept me awake when we had the windows open at night. Overall, would expect that be a great place to raft and party mid summer. But it does not have the look and feel of a quiet place once the season is underway.

Overall a very nice campground and the Good Sam's rating is correct. The RV sites are built as pull through but designed for 2 units to each back in with the hook ups designed for such. The pads are crushed rock and could probably use a little leveling touch up. Each site has a table on a concrete pad. The bathroom/showers are excellent, however, strangely do not have any hand drying equipment. The entire grounds are very clean and the setting is right on the Pigeon River. Note that the campground... Read More

Note that the campground gets very dark at night as the owners do not have a street lights that are on all night. A trip to the bathroom could be an adventure. Overall, I would recommend this campground.
