We found this campground on Good Sam and called to book our reservation. All seemed well until we received our invoice after check in. We didn't look at it right away but the following day and called up to the office because we noticed a Good Sam discount was not applied, and we were being charged for a 50 amp rate when we only needed 30 amp. We had seen both 50 and 30 when plugging in, obviously, but since we hadn't had any conversations about different charges we just assumed either every site... Read More

We didn't look at it right away but the following day and called up to the office because we noticed a Good Sam discount was not applied, and we were being charged for a 50 amp rate when we only needed 30 amp. We had seen both 50 and 30 when plugging in, obviously, but since we hadn't had any conversations about different charges we just assumed either every site was dual or that they gave us one anyway. This is not our first time making campground reservations, and that situation has happened before, however the person who makes our reservation either will tell us "don't worry, you'll still be charged only the 30 amp rate" OR "we only have 50 amp sites left, this is the charge for that if okay with you?" and then it becomes a choice. There was no such conversation. We make notes on any details about our campground reservations in a spreadsheet so we can recall things like this. When on the phone with the front desk person to follow up with our questions, she told us their campground was not eligible for a Good Sam discount (even though I was reading from the Good Sam website that lists them as a member) and that since we're in a 50 amp site we will be charged that rate, there was nothing she could do. While the campground itself is nice enough and located well, we don't appreciate these kinds of interactions and are not likely to return. Plenty of other options in the area and people who care about being upfront, honoring their advertisements, and rectifying situations as they occur.

Older but nice campground. Too many trees at our site to open awning and some of the sites are a little tight. Nice sized creek runs down the side of the campground with plenty of friendly ducks. Campground is right off the main strip but far enough out that you don't feel like you are camping in the middle of all the attractions.
Love this older family owned campground, lots of green space, fun creek and small pool to play in. Close to main road. Go every year to stay here
We camped here 3 times this year and cant wait to go back next year. Great staff and the camp store has about just anything you will need.
The camp ground is convenient to Pigeon Forge amenities being almost in the middle of attractions as well as being off the main strip. The spaces are a little small for big rigs to get into. They need to thin out some trees. My sat.wouldn't pickup so I had no TV except for there local channels on Cable. All in All it was ok, we didn't stay at the RV very much anyway as we had to pack a lot of activities into a short stay.
For the past 6 years, in October, we have a group of friends that go to the mountains. We always stay at Clabough's, without exception. The staff is friendly and always helpful, they have live entertainment, the restrooms are clean. It also, is in a great location. The only thing we would like to see change would be large paved pads for Motorhomes.
We have a 30' FWheel, stayed 4 nights, location perfect, you can bike to the Island. Exterior Heated pool. Wi-fi good. Great store. Not far from the Smoky Mountain.
